Principles of the Feldenkrais Method®:

In any Awareness Through Movement® lesson or Functional Integration® lesson the principles of the method guide our study. Each ATM lesson or FI lesson is unique, but the principles provide us with guidelines for understanding what we observe and how to improve function.

  •  “Good posture is the ability to move in any direction without preparation.” – Moshe Feldenkrais
  • Use of minimum muscular effort
  • Even distribution of muscle tone
  • Reversibility
  • Ease of breath in any action
  • Force travels longitudinally through the bones, rather than shearing across the body
  • Clear skeletal support
  • Head and eyes are free in any movement
